The Czech Plant Nucleus Workshop is an annual conference organised by young Czech scientists. It is mainly meant for PhD students and young career scientists, but of course, undergraduate students and senior scientists are also more than welcome. We aim to strengthen networks among young scientists in Europe and provide an opportunity for establishing collaborations and presenting research.
The conference will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from May 26 to 27, 2025.
The program will be prepared from the presentations of the participants. However, we are happy that three keynote speakers have agreed to attend CPNW2025: Attila Molnar from The University in Edinburg, his scope of interest covers the fields of epigenetics, RNAi, and genome editing in plants and algae; Marta Adelina Mendez from University in Milan, her research focuses on plant reproduction, hormones, epigenetics and drought stress; last but not least, Stefan Heckmann from Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research in Gatersleben, his research is focused on the process of plant meiosis that generates genetic variation through homologous recombination in barley.
In addition to the talks and poster presentations, we are planning to hold two workshops on how to propagate science to the general public, given by Zeptej se vědce (https://zeptejsevedce.cz/), and on stress management and mental health in academia, given by Clément Lafon Placette.
We hope for a relaxed and somewhat informal atmosphere so everyone, especially the undergraduate and PhD students, can experience networking with the scientific community.
